routing.run began as a simple answer to a messy problem.
AI teams were shipping against one model at a time while providers, pricing, latency, and uptime kept changing. Zentex launched routing.run to make model routing a real production layer: one endpoint, controlled fallback, and the freedom to move traffic without rewriting the app.
How it started
The first idea was practical: developers needed a way to use multiple model providers without scattering provider-specific code across their product. When a model got expensive, slow, or unavailable, switching should be an operational decision, not a rewrite.
Zentex funded and founded the project around that belief. The investment went into turning the concept into a product that teams could actually rely on: an OpenAI-compatible API, automatic upstream failover, request handling, and a cleaner developer workflow.
Shubham leads the technical direction as CTO, Satvik contributes as an engineer, and Zentex keeps the product moving as CEO and investor. Together the team has focused on making routing.run feel straightforward: create an API key, choose a model from the live catalog, and keep shipping.
